Agni Dev Puja Vidhi

Worshipping Agni Dev with purity, discipline, and Vedic rituals is believed to bring spiritual energy, sacred fire blessings, and divine strength.

Preparation

  • Take a bath and wear clean clothes

  • Clean and purify the yajna or worship place

  • Prepare the fire altar or havan kund

  • Sit facing the east direction

Required Materials

  • Havan kund or fire vessel

  • Samidha (sacred wood sticks)

  • Ghee (pure cow ghee)

  • Havan materials (herbs and medicinal offerings)

  • Sandalwood

  • Incense sticks

  • Lamp

  • Camphor

  • Water vessel

  • Akshat (rice) and flowers

Sankalp

  • Take a pledge with a calm mind to worship Agni Dev

  • Pray for purity and well-being through the yajna

Meditation

  • Meditate on the radiant form of Agni Dev

  • Visualize the fire energy as red and golden light

  • Focus the mind and remember Vedic mantras

Invocation

  • Invite Agni Dev to be present as a witness in the yajna

  • Chant the mantra 'Om Agnaye Namah' 11 or 21 times

Offering Seat and Water

  • Offer sacred wood to Agni Dev

  • Offer water with a feeling of purity

Lighting the Sacred Fire

  • Light the fire using ghee and camphor

  • Establish the fire in a stable and peaceful form

Offerings

  • Offer havan materials and ghee into the fire

  • Chant mantras with each offering

Mantra Chanting

  • Chant the mantra 'Om Agnaye Swaha'

  • Pray for the yajna to be filled with divine energy

Incense and Lamp

  • Light a ghee lamp

  • Offer incense to purify the surroundings

Aarti

  • Perform the aarti of Agni Dev with devotion

  • Rotate the lamp around the sacred fire

Parikrama

  • Circumambulate the havan kund 3 or 7 times

Pranam

  • Bow to Agni Dev

  • Pray for the success of the yajna and overall well-being

Prasad Distribution

  • Receive the sacred prasad after the havan

  • Distribute the prasad among devotees

Important Instructions

Purity and caution are extremely important in the worship of Agni Dev. Always perform yajna in a safe place and never leave the fire unattended. Havan performed with Vedic mantras is considered highly auspicious and beneficial.
