Lord Kuber Puja Vidhi

Lord Kuber’s puja is performed to attain wealth, prosperity, opulence, and financial stability. Lord Kuber is considered the treasurer of the gods and the lord of wealth. Performing Kuber puja with devotion and a pure heart brings happiness, abundance, and positive energy into life.

Preparation

  • Take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes

  • Clean the puja place thoroughly

  • Install the idol or picture of Lord Kuber on a clean seat

  • Sit facing the North direction

  • Keep your mind calm and focused

Required Materials

  • Idol or picture of Lord Kuber

  • Yellow or red flowers

  • Incense sticks (agarbatti)

  • Ghee lamp (diya)

  • Kumkum

  • Turmeric

  • Sandalwood paste (chandan)

  • Akshat (uncooked rice)

  • Fruits

  • Sweets

  • Coconut

  • Lotus seeds (kamalgatta)

  • Money or coins

  • Water vessel

Sankalp (Resolution)

  • Sit peacefully and take a resolution for the puja

  • Pray for wealth, prosperity, and the happiness of the family

  • Seek financial stability and success from Lord Kuber

Dhyan (Meditation)

  • Close your eyes and remember Lord Kuber

  • Meditate on his divine, radiant, and prosperous form

  • Focus your mind on mantra chanting for some time

Aavahan (Invocation)

  • Invite Lord Kuber to accept the puja

  • Chant the mantra ‘Om Kuberaya Namah’ 11 or 21 times

Asan & Padya

  • Offer flowers and give Lord Kuber a seat

  • Offer pure water to welcome him

Snan (Bath)

  • Offer clean water to the idol

  • If desired, bathe with milk or panchamrit and then rinse with water

Alankar (Decoration)

  • Offer turmeric, kumkum, and sandalwood paste

  • Offer flowers and akshat

  • Place coins or money in front of Lord Kuber

Naivedya (Offering)

  • Offer fruits, sweets, and coconut

  • Pray with devotion that he accepts the bhog

Dhoop & Deep

  • Light incense sticks and offer dhoop

  • Light the ghee lamp

Mantra Jaap

  • Chant the mantra ‘Om Yakshaya Kuberaya Vaishravanaya Dhan Dhanyadhipataye Namah’

  • Chant 108 times as per your wish

Aarti

  • Sing the aarti of Lord Kuber

  • Perform aarti by moving the lamp in a circular motion with devotion

Pradakshina

  • Circumambulate the idol or puja place 1 or 3 times

Pranam (Salutation)

  • Bow to Lord Kuber and seek his blessings

  • Pray for wealth, prosperity, and abundance

Prasad Distribution

  • Distribute the sweets and fruits as prasad

Important Instructions

Lord Kuber’s puja is considered especially auspicious on Dhanteras, Diwali, and Fridays. The North direction holds special importance in Kuber puja. It is also auspicious to worship Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Kuber. In this ritual, devotion, cleanliness, and sincere faith are more important than the procedure itself.
