Indra sends a fierce storm over Braj. The people and their cattle turn to Krishna for shelter from the cold and rain. Krishna raises Govardhana Hill with one hand and invites them beneath it.

Indra sends a fierce storm over Braj. The people and their cattle turn to Krishna for shelter from the cold and rain. Krishna raises Govardhana Hill with one hand and invites them beneath it.
He holds the hill for seven days. Indra then calls off the storm. Once the sky clears, everyone comes out and Krishna returns the hill to its place. The people gather around him with affection.
