Shri Ram Ji Puja Vidhi

Shri Ram Ji puja is performed for righteousness, peace, devotion, family harmony, courage, and blessings of Lord Vishnu’s divine incarnation. Worship Lord Ram with sincerity, discipline, purity, and devotion.

Preparation

  • Take a bath and wear clean clothes

  • Clean the puja area properly

  • Place Shri Ram Ji idol or image on a clean platform

  • If possible, place images of Mata Sita, Lakshman Ji, and Hanuman Ji together

  • Sit facing east or north direction

  • Maintain a peaceful and devotional atmosphere

Required Items (Samagri)

  • Idol or image of Shri Ram Ji

  • Yellow or orange flowers

  • Tulsi leaves

  • Kumkum, Haldi, and Chandan

  • Akshat (rice)

  • Diya (ghee lamp)

  • Incense sticks (Agarbatti)

  • Camphor

  • Fruits

  • Panchamrit or milk

  • Sweets or jaggery

  • Water vessel (Kalash)

  • Yellow cloth (optional)

  • Mala for mantra chanting

Sankalp (Resolution)

  • Sit calmly with folded hands

  • Take a vow to perform Shri Ram Ji puja with devotion

  • Pray for truthfulness, peace, protection, family harmony, and spiritual growth

Dhyan (Meditation)

  • Close your eyes and meditate on Lord Shri Ram

  • Visualize Lord Ram holding bow and arrow with a calm and divine appearance

  • Remember his virtues of truth, duty, and compassion

Avahan (Invocation)

  • Invite Lord Shri Ram to accept your worship

  • Offer flowers and Tulsi leaves

  • Chant 'Om Shri Ramaya Namah' 11 or 21 times

Asana & Padya

  • Offer flowers as a symbolic seat to Lord Ram

  • Sprinkle water for purification and welcome

Snan (Bathing Ritual)

  • Sprinkle clean water on the idol or image

  • Optionally offer Panchamrit or milk

  • Gently wipe with a clean cloth

Alankaar (Decoration)

  • Apply Chandan and Kumkum

  • Offer flowers, Tulsi leaves, and garlands

  • Decorate with yellow or saffron cloth if available

Pushpanjali

  • Offer flowers with folded hands

  • Pray for righteousness, wisdom, strength, and devotion

Naivedya (Bhog)

  • Offer fruits, sweets, jaggery, kheer, or sattvic food

  • Pray for Lord Ram to accept the offering with blessings

Dhoop & Deep

  • Light incense sticks

  • Light a ghee diya

  • Offer camphor if available

Mantra Jaap

  • Chant 'Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram' 11, 21, or 108 times

  • Recite Ram Raksha Stotra, Ramcharitmanas, or Shri Ram Aarti if possible

Aarti

  • Perform Shri Ram Ji Aarti with devotion

  • Wave the diya in circular motion before the deity

Pradakshina

  • Circumambulate around the idol or puja place 1 or 3 times

Pranam (Final Prayer)

  • Bow down before Lord Shri Ram

  • Seek blessings for peace, truth, protection, success, and devotion

Prasad Distribution

  • Distribute sweets, fruits, and prasad among family members and devotees

Important Guidelines

Ram Navami, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Diwali are considered highly auspicious for Shri Ram worship. Reading Ramcharitmanas and chanting the name of Ram with devotion is believed to bring peace and spiritual strength. Simplicity, truthfulness, and devotion are most important in Shri Ram Ji puja.
