Sai Baba Puja Vidhi

Worshipping Sai Baba with devotion, patience, and a sincere heart brings peace, happiness, and divine blessings into life.

Preparation

  • Take a bath and wear clean clothes

  • Clean the worship place properly

  • Place the idol or picture of Sai Baba on a clean seat

  • Sit facing the east or north direction

Required Materials

  • Idol or picture of Sai Baba

  • White or yellow flowers

  • Incense sticks

  • Ghee or oil lamp

  • Sandalwood and kumkum

  • Fruits

  • Sweets or batasha

  • Water vessel

  • Coconut (optional)

  • Udi or sacred ash

Sankalp

  • Sit calmly and take a pledge to perform the worship with devotion and faith

  • Pray for the happiness, peace, health, and prosperity of the family

Meditation

  • Close your eyes and remember Sai Baba

  • Meditate on his peaceful, compassionate, and divine form

  • Keep the mind focused for a few minutes

Invocation

  • Invite Sai Baba to accept the worship

  • Chant the mantra 'Om Sai Ram' 11 or 21 times

Offering Seat and Water

  • Offer flowers as a symbolic seat

  • Offer water as a gesture of welcome

Bathing Ritual

  • Offer clean water to the idol

  • Optionally bathe the idol with milk and then purify again with water

Adornment

  • Apply sandalwood and kumkum tilak

  • Offer flowers and garlands

Naivedya

  • Offer fruits, sweets, and batasha

  • Pray with devotion for the offering to be accepted

Incense and Lamp

  • Light incense sticks

  • Light the lamp

Aarti

  • Sing 'Aarti Shri Sai Guru Var Ki' or 'Sai Baba Ki Aarti'

  • Perform aarti by rotating the lamp in a circular motion

Parikrama

  • Circumambulate the idol 1 or 3 times

Pranam

  • Bow to Sai Baba and seek blessings

  • Pray for faith, patience, and divine grace

Prasad Distribution

  • Distribute sweets and fruits as prasad among everyone

Important Instructions

Faith and patience are considered especially important in Sai Baba worship. Thursday is regarded as highly auspicious for Sai Puja. More than external rituals, sincerity, service, and devotion hold the greatest importance in worship.
