Vishnu Ji Puja Vidhi

Worship of Lord Vishnu is considered highly auspicious for happiness, prosperity, protection, and balance in life. Lord Vishnu is the preserver of the universe and is pleased by true devotion, faith, righteousness, and selfless service. Thursday and Ekadashi are considered especially auspicious days for Vishnu worship.

Preparation

  • Wake up early during Brahma Muhurta

  • Take a bath and wear clean or yellow clothes

  • Maintain purity of mind, speech, and actions

  • Keep the puja area clean and peaceful

  • Place the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a clean seat

  • Use a yellow cloth as the puja base

  • Prepare the lamp and puja materials

  • Thursday or Ekadashi is considered especially auspicious

Puja Materials

  • Idol or image of Lord Vishnu

  • Yellow flowers (such as marigold)

  • Tulsi leaves (essential)

  • Sandalwood paste

  • Akshat (rice)

  • Incense sticks

  • Ghee lamp

  • Water-filled kalash (vessel)

  • Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar)

  • Fruits

  • Prasad (panchamrit or sweets)

  • Conch (if available)

  • Bell

  • Vishnu Chalisa / Aarti book

Sankalp (Resolution)

    Sit calmly in front of Lord Vishnu

    Join your hands and close your eyes

  3. 3

    Take a vow for the puja

  4. 4

    Pray for family well-being, prosperity, health, and righteousness

Invocation

    Light the ghee lamp and incense

    Ring the bell

  3. 3

    Meditate on Lord Vishnu

  4. 4

    Chant the mantra:

    Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

    Or chant:

Puja Procedure

    Offer water to Lord Vishnu

    Perform abhishek with panchamrit (if possible)

    Apply sandalwood tilak

  4. 4

    Offer yellow flowers and Tulsi leaves

  5. 5

    Offer incense and light (deep)

  6. 6

    Offer fruits and prasad

  7. 7

    Pray and meditate with devotion

Important

It is believed that Lord Vishnu does not accept worship without Tulsi leaves. He is highly pleased by true devotion, righteousness, compassion, and service.

Prasad Distribution
